Our History

The skating rink, which was located on the corner of Kickapoo and Independence, was leased in 1949 from Burke Larch-Miller.
In 1954, the Kennedy's purchased the land on West MacArthur where the rink is located. In 1980, Kennedy sold the business to his brother, but took it back after the brother's death.

The Kennedys have been active in church and community activities and served its many patrons, mostly children, as friends and counselors. Kennedy once said he was even a father figure for some of the children.
Miles' Roll-A-Way Rink is a member of the Roller Skating Rink Operators Association of America (R.S.R.O.A.).
